Plot:

As part of several pleasant afternoons together, Jeff and Klaus go to a an estate sale where Klaus looks forward to hearing the crazy stories about the items. He's not disappointed when he finds out that the house was purportedly owned by a wizard and buy an enchanted comb. That night, Klaus's awakened by strange noises and finds the house is freezing cold. Going downstairs, he spots a mysterious figure rise up out of the comb and tells Jeff about it the following day, presenting the wraith as his new girlfriend. Jeff and the rest of the family are a disturbed about her presence, as Klaus adopts a darker personality under the wraith's influence. Klaus' final straw with Jeff is when he decides to move to a lake house with the wraith instead of together as planned. He goes to Roger, who's been involved in a number of business schemes, and discovers that the wraith is tied to the comb and that he can get rid of it if he steals the comb and gives it to someone else.

Jeff succeeds and passes it off to Tuttle, which breaks Klaus' heart. The former wants things to return to the way things were, but Klaus is resistant, but is forced along. Jeff takes him to the lake house that they had originally planned, although Klaus can only think of his plans with the wraith. During a game of Scrabble, Jeff is constantly reminded of his betrayal by the tiles. Klaus refuses to get over his funk, so Jeff calls Roger for help to steal back the comb. After giving it back, Jeff apologizes and explains his actions to Klaus, who finds it one of the most beautiful things ever to happen to him. Thinking he can free the wraith by breaking the comb, he instead incurs her wrath. She waivers between destroying their home and destroying them, until she finally realizes that she is free to do whatever she wants, so the group goes on a summer long tour of all of the major league baseball parks.

In the end, Tuttle returns home to his beloved wreath, only to find out that she's gone.

Meanwhile, Hayley worries that Sub Hub may have to close because a new sandwich shop from Albuquerque is about to open, but Stan is excited because he's heard good things about the sandwiches from there. While waiting in line for the store to open, Francine takes offense to a guy playing loud music and throws Stan's soda can at him. As Stan tries to defuse the situation, the guy punches him in the jaw and shatters it, resulting in it being wired shut. Forced to take his meals through a straw, Stan gets fed up and decides he's going to have a sandwich, regardless of his condition. With great effort, he finally gets his jaws apart to eat the sandwich, but makes his condition worse. Back in the hospital, Francine insults the doctor to the point that he beats up Stan as well.
