TBS is an American cable television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery that shows sports and a variety of programming, with a focus on comedy.
TBS (which stands for Turner Broadcasting System) was originally known as WTCG, a UHF terrestrial television station that broadcast from Atlanta, Georgia, during the late 1970s. WTCG reportedly stood for "Watch This Channel Grow" although the "TCG" officially stood for Turner Communications Group, the forerunner to Turner Broadcasting System.
The channel, like Adult Swim, aired Family Guy in syndication from 2003 to 2021. In addition, American Dad! began airing on TBS on September 20, 2010, and The Cleveland Show from 2013 to 2018.
On October 20, 2014, TBS became the new home to American Dad with the broadcast of "Blonde Ambition". From 2014-2025, 213 episodes of American Dad premiered on the network, with the last one being "What Great Advancements!" on March 24, 2025.
While TBS will keep the re-run rights for older episodes, new episodes will premiere on FOX again. [1] [2]
