Richard Morgan Fliehr (born February 25, 1949), better known as Ric Flair, is an American professional wrestling manager and retired professional wrestler, notable for both his long career and his flamboyant persona.
Stan's quote in "The Life and Times of Stan Smith", "To be the man you've got to beat the man" is a catch phrase associated with wrestling performer Ric Flair.[1]
In "The Wondercabinet", as Steve ponders what to do with his life, he stumbles across a radio show by Palmer Elymas pitching new age mysticism, starting with the pineal gland. he perceives the name of a series of professional wrestlers who support the theory that the gland can be used to move through time and space, including Ric Flair. Later, Steve is seen reading a book of mysticism by Ric Flair.
