Marty is a friend of Principal Lewis who joins in chaperoning a class trip to Philadelphia in "Smooshed: A Love Story".
When Marty and their school bus come up missing, Principal Lewis sends everybody out to search for them based on the places they had been previously. Steve is forced to pair up with Ali, a girl who is pretty pessimistic on love and life. But when Steve unwittingly extracts her from an uncomfortable situation with an ex-boyfriend, they end up kissing, but she later tries to claim it didn't mean anything. Unwilling to accept this answer, Steve runs into the street and his pinned between Marty and the school bus and a police car stolen by Snot and a girl he paired up with. Steve refuses to let them extract him until Ali admits that the kiss did mean something.
