  • Bill attempts to impress Francine by holding Peter Gabriel, along to a boombox above his head, alluding to the film Say Anything.
  • Francine's high school friend "Quackie", voiced by Jon Cryer, is a reference to his character "Duckie" in the film Pretty in Pink.
  • The pig head speaking to Stan in the hotel is similar to a scene in Lord of the Flies.
