Camp Refugee

Stan pressures Steve to go to summer camp because of his own experiences but he has missed the cutoff date to get in. Desperate to send Steve to any camp at all, he accidentally sends him to a refugee camp in Africa. On Francine's insistence, Stan goes with Hayley to retrieve him. Once there, Stan maintains the delusion that this is really just an ordinary summer camp doing everything from t-shirts to giving the kids nicknames to calling the violent rebels across the river members of a rival summer camp while Hayley checks herself out of his fantasy and stays at the United Nations base camp.

When the rebel band kidnaps the African girl Steve is falling for, a "Camp Olympics" is set up to win her back. The teams end up tied going into the final event of a foot race and Steve volunteers. Going into the halfway point he leads, but when his opponent tosses him into some bushes, he finds himself nose-to-nose with a lion. Fleeing at top speed, he wins the race, but finds his paramour has dumped him for the rebel leader. As they commiserate, Stan confesses that his own memories weren't that bright either. As the refugees are being moved for following day, Stan wants them to write when they get home until they point out they have no homes. Stan admits that he has forgotten about their situation and breaks the fourth wall to note that everyone else does as well. Flying home, Steve admits that camp was awesome, as Stan recounts the made-up names he gave the refugees.

Meanwhile, Francine and Roger have fun at home pretending to be a married couple and attending an art show. When their role-playing gets out of hand, they both turn angry and bitter, scaring away their invited dinner guests with their fighting. In the aftermath, Francine tries to find a way to rewrite their story, but Roger insists on sticking to the version they have created.
