- The title refers to the 1931 novel Brave New World, in which a future society is disrupted by a disgruntled individual.
- After apparently absconding with an ice cream cart, the walls of Steve rooms are smeared with 'REDRUM RAISIN' and 'MELTER SKELTER', nods to 'Redrum' from The Shining and 'Helter Skelter', by definition 'to run amok' and the title of a Beatles song as well as a film about the Manson murders.
