When Klaus gets sick, Stan takes him to the animal hospital but balks at paying the high cost to save his life. On their way home, Klaus suggests possibly transferring his brain at the CIA but is also shot down by Stan as he shows off his expensive new computer module for his SUV, which can control all of the car functions autonomously. When Stan stops for gas, Klaus uses the computer to leave him behind and takes off to the CIA, where he finds they can put his brain in any device with a battery. Stan follows the lojack system of his SUV and finds that Klaus has already had himself inserted into the computer. As Stan suggests putting Klaus into other household objects so he doesn't have to be in close quarters with him, they stop a robbery and decide to team up to fight crime, which has a strange pattern of involving Zagnut candy bars.
Relaxing one evening, as Stan opens up about actually enjoying time with Klaus, Klaus takes revenge on Stan for refusing to pay for his operation and leaves him behind. When Klaus stops to pick up a woman hitchhiker, two more thugs get into the car and Klaus finds himself taken to a candy-obsessed gang leader where they proceed to strip the parts. Stan finds a motorcycle and jacket, and faking his way past the gang, steals what is left of his SUV, but finds they have already removed the computer system. Driving back and smashing the SUV into gas tanks, Stan manages to steal back the system and takes it to the CIA. Klaus is offered a range of animal bodies to choose from and wishes for a snake, but Stan insists he goes back into the technician's goldfish.
Meanwhile, Steve and his friends play pranks, annoying one of Roger's personas at a fast-food shop as he berates them for pulling a lame prank. When they later take to dropping hard-boiled eggs off a bridge into traffic below, they manages to strike a car with another one of Roger's personas, a high-strung wanna-be cop. With his frightened "wife" Stacy and children in the car, Roger pursues the boys, injuring Barry and nearly running them all down in a blind alley, until Stacy manages to calm him down. While dining out, Roger takes offense when the restaurant says they have run out of the red sauce Stacy ordered and appears to have blown his brains out, sending everyone in the restaurant running, except for Stacy and kids who depart with a smile. Roger later reveals to Steve that it was all an elaborate prank faked with a skullcap full of hamburger to show the boys how it is done.
