Plot:
Prior to the Smith's return home, Klaus cleans up the house, only to find they are not in a good mood due to a bad trip to Gettysburg. He's complemented on his good job watching the house, until it's revealed that Jurgen accidentally broke a picture frame for a prized family vacation photo that was replaced. Despite the cheapness of the original frame, the family is extremely upset about its replacement. When Stan notes that he doesn't have any personal time left to take a new vacation, Roger declares he'll help him find a way.
Meanwhile, windy conditions around the world caused concern, so the CIA brings in a expert, one of Roger's disguises. His conclusion that it's caused by a Sumerian giant is laughed at by the CIA members and results in Dick's firing. Roger's solution is to sail across the ocean and ask the giant, known as "Tall Jeremy", to stop blowing and Stan, believing this is the extra vacation time needed, volunteers to escort him.
Unwilling to trust Klaus with the house again, the family prepares to interview sitters but they are blown away by the wind, which also brings Dick 'Mary Poppins-style' to their door for the job. Klaus begs for a second chance but Dick is left in charge. Although things start off unpleasantly between the two, they actually find some common ground. Hanging out together at the mall, Principal Lewis intervenes when Dick steps away and tells Klaus that he's really just a squatter, explaining that he nearly took over his own house. Klaus confronts Dick who originally feigns ignorance, then tries to appeal based on the family's treatment of him. However, Klaus is completely on board with the idea of taking over the house as well.
Enjoying the CIA 's luxury yacht, the Smiths are put out when Roger trades the yacht to Somali pirates for a poorly equipped rowboat in an effort to actually find the giant. After a month, the family gets fed up and calls for a CIA rescue copter, but Roger stays behind to keep looking for the giant. They arrive home to find that Dick and Klaus have changed the locks and Stan is arrested when he tries to break in. As the family is forced to hole up in an Airbnb, Dick's continued takeover of the house begins to wear on Klaus, who after reading the massive handbook that Francine had left behind, found some positive things the family had to say about him and realizes that he's being manipulated by Dick as well. He seeks out Lewis and finds he has to scare him out, which he'd already revealed the only thing he is scared of is ghosts. The pair, along with Tuttle, quickly send him running. After calling the family with the good news, Klaus accidently kicks over candles set up for a satanic setting and burns the house down. They arrive to find the charred remains, but Klaus was able to save the family photo.
Roger awakens one morning to find he's being held by "Tall Jeremy", who reveals that the winds are being caused due to being sick. Unable to eat hot soup and unwilling to eat it cold, Roger agrees with him to just go back to eating people and has him toss him back toward home.
