Plot:

When Steve tries to write a paper about his dad for a school essay contest, the latter believes he still needs to work on it, while Hayley objects to his praise. When he takes Steve and Hayley to work with him so that he can help Steve with his essay, they discover that his softball record is a lie, and he has been able to fake his abilities. Although Steve is still willing to give Stan the benefit of the doubt, his teacher pressures him to turn in his paper as it is. Stan takes Steve and Hayley to a softball game so that they can see him in action, and he reveals that he really has been a fraud. Having lost their respect, Stan runs away.

Although Steve is uninterested in his father's fate, Hayley insists on locating him, and with Roger's help, they find him working as a motel manager in Florida. They discover that Stan's fear of the ball happened because of observing his coach suffer a horrible accident, although an offer to help from a baseball idol of his gets him back on the field, where he observes a similar accident happen again, albeit with less fatal results. Stan manages to convince Bullock to put him back on the field during a crucial moment in a game, but when he is mauled by the team's raccoon mascot, he is blamed for the loss of a complete shutout. Still, the effort does win him back the respect of Steve and Hayley, who visit him in the hospital.

Meanwhile, when Francine decides to christen a brand new porta potty, she finds herself locked inside by a worker who decides to reserve it for his own mother. Late at night, she discovers she's able to kick her way through the bottom and easily walk away while still wearing the potty. However, she finds herself being pursued by a truck driver, who believes she escaped from the back of his truck of portable toilets. She is eventually captured and shoved into a warehouse full of other porta potties.
